Although he had been rapping for years, Cary’s rap moniker evolved several times before he finally settled into Wisemoney.

His earliest name played off his middle name and, in his own estimation, his lyrical ability. He has no intention of revealing it now—mostly because he does not particularly like it. From there, he adopted the more literary Theowulf, inspired by the legend of Beowulf and his growing interest in history, storytelling, and literature.

Then, in 2021, a longtime friend gave him the nickname Wisemoney, and the name stuck. Cary began recording and rapping under the Wisemoney moniker for a brief period before, as it often does, life intervened.

He still raps from time to time, whether dropping a stray verse on TikTok, appearing on the occasional feature, or, in rarer moments, cyphering with friends. As he has gotten older and experienced more of life, however, the desire to return to music has only grown stronger.

With more perspective, more stories, and more to say than he had in his earlier years, Cary still sees music as an important part of his creative identity. A return to new songs, full projects, and perhaps even albums under the Wisemoney name remains very much on the table.
